Stetson School – Residential Treatment Program

Company Description

Stetson School in Barre, Massachusetts, is part of the Seven Hills Foundation and offers a residential treatment program designed specifically for boys and young men with severe emotional, behavioral and psychiatric challenges. More than just a placement, Stetson School creates a therapeutic community in which youth learn how to regulate their emotions, develop healthy relationships and prepare for a successful return home. The program operates in a planned treatment milieu where family members are viewed as vital partners in the therapeutic process and are encouraged to participate in meetings and interventions throughout the youth’s stay Every resident is assigned a clinician, case manager and residential advocate who work together to understand the youth’s history, identify safety concerns and build a tailored treatment plan. At admission, staff develop an Individual Crisis Management Plan that is re‑evaluated periodically to ensure that behavioural interventions remain responsive to the child’s needs

Youth live in a structured environment with round‑the‑clock supervision and support. The program combines evidence‑based therapy, social and emotional learning, and behavior management strategies to promote growth while maintaining safety Groups and individual sessions help residents process trauma, build coping skills and practise positive decision‑making. At the same time, Stetson School coordinates academic instruction through an on‑site special‑education school so that students can continue their studies without interruption. As youth progress, treatment teams work with families and community providers to plan aftercare services that facilitate a smooth transition home.

Medical and psychiatric care are integrated into the program’s continuum of support. Stetson School partners with the Barre Family Health Center so that residents have access to emergency medical and healthcare consultation at any time On‑campus nurses provide care seven days a week from early morning until late evening, with after‑hours nursing and physician support available through an on‑call system; each youth receives a comprehensive nursing assessment within eight hours of admission and ongoing monitoring of medical issues such as diabetes or asthma Dental and vision exams are provided every six months, and psychiatric care is overseen by a board‑certified child and adolescent psychiatrist who conducts evaluations and manages medication Stetson School also maintains 24‑hour access to emergency psychiatric services, ensuring that crises are addressed swiftly and safely. This combination of structured care, individualized treatment planning, family involvement and integrated health services makes Stetson School a comprehensive residential program for boys who need intensive support. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to contact Stetson School to learn more about how the program can help their child heal and build the skills necessary for a successful future.
