Company Description

Treatment is rooted in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), which teaches mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness skills For youth with co‑occurring substance issues the program integrates DBT with relapse prevention and chemical dependency counseling Adolescents with impulsive and disruptive behaviors participate in Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) and DBT to identify skill deficits and develop individualized interventions while those with specialized learning or developmental needs receive Applied Behavior Analysis and modified DBT, with individualized plans that address specific safety and educational goals

Four Winds provides a safe, supportive milieu with 24‑hour nursing, psychiatry and clinical staff. Each patient receives a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and medication management as needed. The program’s Learning Center offers accredited on‑site education so adolescents can maintain academic progress during treatment, and creative art therapies, recreational activities and outdoor experiences promote self‑expression and physical wellness Specialized programming for LGBTQ youth ensures a respectful, knowledgeable environment; clinicians consult with an LGBTQ specialist to tailor treatment and provide resources for patients and families Family participation is integral across all programs, with parents and caregivers involved in treatment planning, skills groups and discharge coordination.

As a Joint Commission‑accredited facility, Four Winds Westchester is committed to clinical excellence and a nurturing approach The hospital’s scenic campus includes walking paths, gardens and outdoor recreation spaces that foster a sense of calm and allow young people to reconnect with nature. An interdisciplinary team collaborates to create individualized treatment plans that incorporate DBT skills training, relapse prevention, trauma‑informed care, educational support and community resource coordination. By engaging families, providing age‑appropriate education and offering comprehensive discharge planning, Four Winds helps adolescents build a foundation for recovery and prepares them to return home with improved emotional regulation, stronger relationships and a renewed sense of hope.
