Company Description

The Idaho Youth Ranch’s Residential Center for Healing & Resilience (RCHR) is Idaho’s first and only
long‑term psychiatric residential treatment program for youth. Located on the Hands of Promise campus in Caldwell,
the center serves boys and girls ages 11–17 who are struggling with serious emotional, behavioral and mental
health challenges. An integrative approach guides every aspect of care: clinicians combine trauma‑informed
interventions with evidence‑based therapies, medication management and academic support to help residents
stabilize and develop healthy coping skills. Young people live on a pastoral property dotted with barns, fields and
horse pastures, and the program’s rural setting is an intentional part of the healing processhttps://www.youthranch.org/rchr#:~:text=Residential%20Care%20for%20Youth%2C%20Ages,11%E2%80%9317. In
addition to caring for emotional and psychological needs, staff help each child build self‑esteem and resilience by
connecting them with nature, peers and caring adults.

Residents are placed in dorm‑style lodging with private bedrooms within halls named after Idaho mountain ranges;
24/7 nursing staff and psychiatry professionals provide continuous oversight, and each child receives a
comprehensive assessment to personalize their treatment plan. The campus includes a therapy and wellness building,
a recreation hall, dining hall and equine facilities; there is also an on‑site charter school known as the Promise
Academy where youth can keep up with academic work and receive individualized supporthttps://www.youthranch.org/rchr#:~:text=Our%20center%20provides%20proven%20care,like%20setting.
Therapeutic modalities span individual, group and family therapy, dialectical and cognitive behavioral approaches,
and experiential therapies such as equine‑assisted therapy and outdoor activities. Because many residents have
experienced trauma, staff create a safe, nurturing environment that emphasizes connection rather than control; the
program’s trauma‑informed model avoids the use of restraints and encourages youth to actively participate in their
healinghttps://idahocapitalsun.com/2023/08/08/after-years-of-sending-kids-out-of-state-idaho-youth-can-now-access-residential-mental-health-care/#:~:text=The%20Idaho%20Youth%20Ranch%20is,short%20drive%20from%20downtown%20Caldwell.

Family involvement is a core principle. Parents and caregivers are engaged early through weekly family sessions,
educational workshops and regular visits; aftercare planning begins on day one to ensure that supports continue
once a youth returns home. The center partners with community providers to offer wraparound services, and
families are encouraged to remain involved throughout a child’s stay and during the transition back to the
communityhttps://www.youthranch.org/rchr#:~:text=Residential%20Care%20for%20Youth%2C%20Ages,11%E2%80%9317. With 64 beds and a medical team on site, the facility can serve young people
throughout Idaho who need longer periods of stabilization and skill development; admissions occur gradually,
always keeping census small to maintain a close‑knit, home‑like atmospherehttps://idahocapitalsun.com/2023/08/08/after-years-of-sending-kids-out-of-state-idaho-youth-can-now-access-residential-mental-health-care/#:~:text=The%20Idaho%20Youth%20Ranch%20is,short%20drive%20from%20downtown%20Caldwell. The RCHR’s
combination of therapy, education, family involvement and nature‑based experiences offers a holistic path toward
healing and resilience for Idaho youth who have not found success in less‑intensive settings.
