The Columbus Behavioral Center for Children and Adolescents provides a secure, therapeutic environment for youth
ages 8–17 who require residential mental health treatment. Located in Columbus, Indiana, the 57‑bed facility
serves children and adolescents with a wide range of emotional and behavioral disorders, including trauma,
post‑traumatic stress, mood disorders and self‑harm behaviors. Admissions begin with a comprehensive
psychiatric evaluation; the treatment team then develops an individualized plan that may include trauma‑focused
cognitive behavioral therapy (TF‑CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and other evidence‑based interventions
The goal is to help each youth stabilize, develop healthy coping skills and
transition to a less restrictive level of care.
